‘Minnow’ Examined

A Happy Examiner

This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting a very experienced dinghy cruising sailor who wanted to see ‘Minnow’ in the flesh. I’m delighted that he found her as expected, and that he appreciated what she had to offer, especially the ease with which she can be reefed.

Another feature he particularly liked was being able to sit facing forwards while steering with tiller lines. Unlike most cruising dinghies, her crew can control the boat without being exposed to the elements. When the sun is shining, the hatch is slid forward, so that her skipper is warmed by the sun, and yet he is not exposed to wind or spray. If the going gets tough, and all hell is let loose, he simply closes the hatch, rolls in a deep reef and relaxes on cushions below. Fresh air enters the cabin through the mast box vent. Oilskins are obsolete. The only time they are required is when ashore.

The Paradox experience is unlike any other, and those who own these vessels are forever telling of their merits. They become zealous missionaries who passionately want to share the good news. The problem is that few can enter the narrow gate, because they have to build a Paradox, or be fortunate enough to find one for sale.

Now is your chance to grab one. Contact me by phoning 0788288060 or email barnacleid at yahoo dot co dot uk.
